Another great scent profile from Johnnie Ray. It starts off with a tropical burst of passion fruit. A wonderful, sweet top note. One that doesn’t fade away completely, but gives way just enough for the spearmint and bergamot to come through. The spearmint gives it freshness, and the bergamot a subtle kick. This is all tied together with oud. Oud is described many ways: earthy, musky, resinous, woody, smoky. They’re all good descriptors for a smell that’s difficult to describe. What this profile does though is bring about those smoky attributes of oud.
So many layers to Torch Lake, makes it another scent journey by Johnnie Ray. It’s similar to Motown in that regard. But where Motown is deep and masculine, Torch Lake is open and atmospheric. Two hours in and the scent is still there; this one is a lingerer. Highly recommended, folks!
I use this beard oil in the Apex blend, which is fantastic. Absorbs really well into the beard, provides nice “slip”, and is very softening.
This is my favorite scent from Johnnie Ray. It starts off with top notes that are equal parts citrus and floral. Those notes fade rather quickly to give way to a fantastic woodsy heart note. Similar to sandalwood, but brighter and lighter. The hinoki, I presume. What’s unmistakeable is how the scent settles at the end. The oakmoss and oud linger the longest, giving this essential oil blend a depth that, in my opinion, is unmatched in Johnnie Ray’s EO lineup. It’s like a journey from bright & sweet to dark & earthy.
This is the most liked product for beard growth. I love this product because of the science behind the product. Very enjoyable and really works in your beard.

My wife is pretty sensitive to the smell of blue tansy oil, but I love what it does for my beard...what's a boy to do? Frankemuth to the rescue! The scent is mint forward, and the blue tansy backs it up in a beautiful way. I get the effect of blue tansy, without having to sleep on the couch. I'm almost certain that when this scent was being developed minimizing my marital woes didn't enter the conversation. But I appreciate it!
I initially bought blue tansy shampoo and conditioner for my daughter, then I used it. Now we're both hooked! I was super impressed with how clean my hair felt as I rinsed it out. When it dried I had body, softness, and shine (that's what my daughter said to say) that I didn't know my hair was capable of. In fact, after about a week of using it my barber commented on how much better my hair looked, and asked me what I had been using
I got the blue tansy wash bar just for something convenient to take on an upcoming vacation. Honestly, I didn't expect much as most 3 in 1 (I'll never call it that again) products that I've tried aren't great. I should have known Nate and Hannah dont put out 'meh' products. This stuff is fantastic! Good on the head hair, great on the beard, and phenomenal on the skin! I heard there was a lot of work put into development on this product, and it shows. It went from a 1 time purchase to a must have in my rotation after the first use
The Grand Blanc is a great smell to start my day. The lather is quick, substantial, and leaves my beard feeling clean without any residual product in beard. I found my replacement now that Doctor Nick’s is no more. I’m looking forward to trying their other products.

This was is something else. Love it for the morning. Leaves the relevant areas feeling refreshed and ready for the day, and the scent puts your mind in the right space for getting stuff done. Used this on a trip in Arkansas, and I had ZERO issues with chafing of any sort in the southern mountain humidity. New favorite product of it's type, right there!
This might be my favorite beard oil of all time. No oily, greasy feel. just a clean scent and a clean feel. Awesome company and product.
