We recommend using a gentle daily wash. However, we recommend using a stripping beard bar soap 1-2 times per month, or as needed based on your lifestyle. Stripping bar soaps remove oils that nourish the beard, but are necessary to remove built-up product, dirt and grime. Always follow up with Johnnie Ray Signature Blend Beard Oil after using a stripping soap. 

Yes, our beard bar soaps are stripping and should be used in-beard 1-2 times per month, or more based on your lifestyle, to remove built-up product, dirt and grime. Our beard and body soaps can be used for body cleansing as often as you’d like. For a daily beard wash experience in bar form, our Beard Wash Bars are designed at a gentle pH to wash away dirt and grime without stripping.

Beard butter is a deep conditioning product recommended for use at night before bed. Beard balm provides nourishment and a styling hold. Johnnie Ray Beard Balm provides a medium-firm hold.

Our Beard Oil is truly different with exotic carrier oils that are skin-safe, and low on the comedogenic scale. Our Legacy and Apex Blends use superstar ingredients, like hemisqualane, and Emu oil.

All of our products have a shelf life of 1 year with proper storage conditions. Exposure to heat, direct sunlight, and temperature cycling, or leaving products open or uncapped may affect the shelf life.

We recommend keeping your beard care products away from direct sunlight and in a cool, dry location.

Apply a desired amount to your palms to start. Rub hands together and distribute the oil evenly to your skin, mustache and beard.

Rub desired amount between palms of hand to melt. Apply to beard and brush or comb through to evenly distribute.

Rub desired amount of balm between palms of hand to melt thoroughly. Apply to beard evenly and style.

How much product you need varies on the length and thickness of your beard. After 30 minutes, you should be able to run your hand through your beard and not experience any oily residue on your hands. This means you’ve used too much. It may take some time for new beardsmen to calibrate the appropriate amount for their beard.

Beard butter and beard balm can be used together, but it’s not recommended. Beard butter is recommended for night time use and beard balm is used as a day-time styling product. 

Yes! Beard balm provides significant nourishment and styling hold for your beard. For best results, ensure to apply beard oil at least five minutes prior to using a beard balm.

We recommend applying beard oil at the start and finish of your day and always after washing your beard.

You can wash your beard every day with a daily gentle wash and 1-2 times per month with a stripping wash.

It is recommended to only comb your beard after applying product and only while the beard is still damp.

Yes, it is recommended to use heat for styling after beard oil has been applied and fully absorbed, about 5 minutes.

Yes, you may be using too much beard oil if you notice an oily residue after 30 minutes or you experience beard related maladies, such as beard acne.

For safety, hygiene, and quality-control reasons, Johnnie Ray does not accept returns or exchanges on apparel, cosmetic, personal-care, grooming, soap, sample, or supplement products once they have been shipped. This applies whether the product is opened, unopened, or unused.

We cannot restock or resell products after they have left our control. Therefore, we do not accept returns, exchanges, or issue refunds because:

• You changed your mind.
• You ordered the wrong product.
• You do not like the fragrance.
• You believe the fragrance is too strong or too weak.
• You experience an allergy, sensitivity, or personal reaction.
• You no longer want or need the product.
• The product was purchased as a gift.

Product descriptions, fragrance information, ingredient lists, and available trial or sample sizes should be reviewed before placing an order. Customers are responsible for confirming that a product is appropriate for their preferences and intended use before purchasing.

Order Problems

If your order arrives damaged, contains an incorrect item, or appears to have a manufacturing defect, please email Info@Johnnie-Ray.com with your order number and photographs of the issue. We will review the situation and determine the appropriate resolution.

Reporting an order problem does not authorize a return. Products should not be mailed back unless Johnnie Ray has provided written authorization and return instructions.
